For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 God has always placed me where His perfect plan desired. His timing has always been impeccable, least expected and played a role in my first foster sister, my law school career, my loving husband and now this incredible opportunity to be named Mrs. International® 2005.
The Mrs. International® pageant system has established itself as an organization with high moral values, ethical standards, integrity and Christian values. The same characteristics with which I try to live my life.
At the age of 16, I helped a runaway friend from the local childrens home find a safe and loving place to live my home. Unknowingly, she was to be my first foster sister and a life changing experience that taught me how love and support can change a childs life! My family has always been very giving but this act of love raised our commitment to a new level and has affected my entire familys lives. My career as an attorney has also lended itself to a giving position. The legal profession is a service-oriented profession we are charged with helping those less fortunate. It is our moral and ethical duty to assist the unrepresented. Working in my community at my fathers law firm has brought volunteer work in a variety of child advocacy groups. One of these is the Boys & Girls Club of America of which I serve on the Board of Directors in my area. This charitable organization has become my passion. Its amazing to know that the most dangerous time for school age kids is from 3-4 p.m. when there is no supervision in many single parent or disadvantages families. The Boys & Girls Club of America is a proven delinquency prevention program. Each club has specially designed and implemented programs to meet the needs for children in their communities. This is the time we can stop gang recruitment, drug abuse, criminal activity and sexual activity in kids. I am thrilled to be a part of an organization that can and does change the lives of children in the U.S. and across the world. The Boys & Girls Club of America is entirely run on generous contributions of corporate and private donations.
As Mrs. International® 2005 I have become a national celebrity spokesperson for the Boys & Girls Club of America and plan to support and advocate for our youth. It is my mission this year to increase public awareness, increase financial contribution, support and advocate for current donors and most importantly show youngsters that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
As an attorney, my motto is that I would rather see them as Clubbers than as criminal clients in my office. I hope to help establish new club facilities in deserving neighborhoods.
Help me to fully engage in the saving of our nations future, our most precious natural resource Americas children! Invest in Americas future Boys & Girls Club of America - The Positive Place for Kids.
